The importance of arhaeo-enthomology

The archaeo-enthomology is the mix of archaeology and enthomoly. In other words, is the study of insects associated with archaeological remains. I think that this science is very important to know about the past of humanity, but currently it's an underdeveloped area.
The archaeo-enthomology can help to recreate the paleo-enviroments more exactly and detailed than others sciences. Also, the insects can reveal some cultural practics associated with them (feeding, medicinal use, etc.)
For example, some mummified beetles was been found in egiptian tombs. This suggests that beetles was an animal with simbolic value for egiptians, probably of a religious nature.
The only problem of archaeo-enthomology is that insects have a very bad conservation in most sediments, for this reason few insects have been found in archaeological sites.
In conclusion, I think that the archaeo-enthomology is an interensting area.  This can contribute to knowledge about humanity's past. But, it's very difficult to find insects in the sites. Therefore, to specialize only in this area may be a bad option.
